During these uncertain times, we have made arrangements to continue business as usual. While our office will be closed, our phone lines will remain open, all staff are available via email and we are working towards putting measures in place to carry out virtual viewings. For more information please email email@example.com.
What is Fit Propertys plans for maintenance?
At the moment we will be assessing maintenance jobs that come in and will only be attending to maintenance that is classed as urgent. This will be assessed on a case by case basis, we urge tenants of our fully managed properties to keep reporting maintenance as usual through the mypropertyfile app and we will contact you as normal regarding the issues. We will offer advice over the phone or by video call where possible. If you are a tenant in a house where the landlord manages their own maintenance, you should liaise with them directly to find out their policies on maintenance.
Please see below a link to some self help videos for some maintenance issues:
What if I want to view a property?
Please contact the office via phone (0114 2725773) or email Beth@fitproperty.com. We will carry out 'video viewings' where possible.
Do I still need to pay my rent?
You will still be expected to pay rents during this time. If you are a working professional experiencing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 outbreak, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will liaise with the landlord regarding putting a payment plan in to place.
For any students who have decided to move back home to parents/guardians houses, your rent will still be payable as your tenancy agreement is still in place. At the moment student loans are due to still be paid on the next instalment therefore we do not expect there to be an issue paying your rent as planned.
What if I am due to move in to a new property?
At present we will still be moving tenants in and out of houses as normal. Any individual who is due to move in or out of a Fit Property house will be contacted near their move in/out date to explain the process. All move ins and move outs will be conducted with the government guidelines in mind.
What precautions should I take?
Government advice recommends the following:
Cover your mouth or nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and put straight in the bin. If you don’t have access to a tissue, it is recommended you use your elbow.
Wash hands regularly with soap and water and use hand sanitizer
Stay at home at all times other than for, shopping for basic necessities (as infrequent as possible), one form of exercise a day, any medical need or travelling to and from work but only wehre this absolutely cannot be done at home.
What should I do if I develop symptoms?
Government advice is that you should self isolate for fourteen days if you have either:
- A high temperature
- A new continuous cough
Do not call NHS 111 unless your symptoms worsen - instead follow advice as given on the NHS website.
URGENT: YOU MUST INFORM FIT PROPERTY IF YOU ARE SELF ISOLATING TO AVOID US ENTERING THE PROPERTY
What does self isolate mean?
- Don't leave your home for any other reason than to exercise once a day but stay in 2 metres away from other people
- Don't go out to buy food or medicine - rely on help of others and online services
- No visitors in your home
